How did your passion to motorsports started?

Everything began with karting, in my case it was a bit like a coincidence. My parents never had contact with motorsport, Robert Kubica isn’t my family, I didn’t have a brother, so it all started with me. My father was obviously an inseparable part of developing my passion, as he was the one who took me to the karting circuit for the first time. I liked it from the very beginning and all other karting drives were my initiative. It started from some normal, regular stints, then it was time for the amateur karting league and finally I am here, in Volkswagen Golf Cup, realizing my dreams step by step.

What can you say about this year’s starting grid compared to the previous season?

We have a lot of theoretically new drivers, but their experience in the front-wheel-drive cars is quite big. They are the drivers who started in the Scirocco cup last year, they were very fast there and this cars are pretty much the same as GTI Golf’s. Despite the absence of some top drivers from last year, the top 10 is still going very fast. We had a good example, when 15 drivers finished the session in 1 second gap difference. I am not shocked that we have to fight for every fraction, as I was prepared for that level. Currently I am very satisfied with my form, as I maintain my pace in the top 10.

You have started a very interesting project on Slovakia Ring – you organized a trip for fans to the racing weekend. It was quite a success, right?

Yes, I am very positively surprised with the interest on that weekend. I managed to collect quite a big group of fans, despite the trip started very early and finished late at night. I am realizing this idea also on Lausitzring and I hope other drivers will join me. During the third round of the cup in Germany there should also be a lot of my friends, as we start the holiday and most of them should have already passed their exams.

What are your plans for the next season and your further career?

I am now fully focused on the front-wheel-cars, but no specific plans have been made yet. I want to finish the current season in the best form and now it is my main target. I will think about the next step of my career after the season, but I won’t lie to tell you that my dream is to start in the WTCC, which I could have observe during Volkswagen Golf Cup round in Slovakia.

You also participated in the Moto Expo Show in Cracow and Sosnowiec. How was it?

I was shocked how big interest the expo had! In Cracow there were a lot of people on Sunday and most of them were really well prepared and they had quite big knowledge about the motorsport in Poland. I am really happy that people awareness according to motorsport is still growing. I have especially nice memories from the conversation with one girl, whose history is very alike mine. She is playing football and has “man” passions. Both she and her parents didn’t know if it is a good idea to develop them, but I obviously convinced her. We are already set up for some karting meeting and we are in contact via facebook. It was my first official appearance on such an event and it was really nice to hear a lot of nice and positive comments.

Do you also like other sports, or you are fully focused on driving the car?

I like all sports, which give you a lot of adrenaline. Besides racing, long before the season start or after its finish I like so called survival runs. The distance is between 5 to 20 kilometers – you can really get properly tired! I also started to mountain biking in the woods, but I try to be careful as little mistake can finish with an injury. I wouldn’t like to be absent in the season of my dreams!

On the PZM website you are promoting safety in cars. What kind of driver are you every day?

To be honest, I don’t go crazy on the roads. There is so much adrenaline and emotions on the circuit, that going mad on the road doesn’t really impress me. We should stick to the regulations on the road, that’s why I am always trying to driver reasonably and safety. Racing from lights to lights don’t make much impression on me.
