Quite unusually, the weekend in Morawy started on Saturday and 25 Golf GTI’s roared with their engines already at 9:00 a.m. opening the racing weekend. Drivers had 30 minutes to get acquainted with the circuit and do the best to prepare before the proper fight for valuable points.

Sebastian Arriola from Guatemala, who had to cope with a time-zone changes, was the fastest during the morning session. On this level the best time was 2:19,790 seconds and the closest to beat him was Dylan Pereira with a 0,069 seconds loss. The top 3 was closed by the leader of the overall standings – Jeffrey Kruger. Because the circuit was dry, the best lap times were done throughout the whole session, so it wasn’t a different between second or eight lap. The fastest Pole, with a 0,476 seconds loss, was Adam Rzepecki, who outpaced Jerzy Dudek, Michał Gadomski, Kevin Metzner and Gosia Rdest who finished 8th.

The second free practice session gave us a new fastest driver – Pereira. The second time, almost half a second away from the contestant from Luxembourg was Michał Gadomski, while the top 3 was filled with Adam Rzepecki. The differences on the next positions were really small, thanks to which the 6th Kevin Metzner lost less than 0,5 second to the 2nd place. Jędrzej Szcześniak and Gosia Rdest were also able to beat the German driver. Jeffrey Kruger finished the 2nd free practice on a distant 11th position.

Today drivers will have to face a qualifying session, which will decide about the grid positions before both Sunday races. The best driver on the distance of 1 lap will be known just after 3:50 p.m.

Quotes after the practice sessions in Brno:
Adam Rzepecki: I really like the track and have always been pretty fast here. During the practice sessions I was able to note the times in top 4. It is a good result concerning the future, I am really happy with the beginning of the weekend so I hope I will be able to repeat those times in the qualifying session.

Jeffrey Kruger: – I was driving on very used tires, although in the back I had a bit newer ones to prepare them before the race. In qualifying session the situation will be completely different, we will have all new tires and we will see what is our maximum pace here.

Simo Muhonen: – I had some troubles with the oversteering, but we tried to compensate it with different tire pressures. Practice times weren’t pretty good, but the changes we made gave a positive result so I feel well prepared for the qualifying. The goal is to finish in the top 5, as I want to fight for the podium in both races.

Marcin Jaros: – This was a good start of the weekend for me as I was able to note the top 10 times in the practice. Unfortunately, in the 2nd practice session it was worse, as on one of the kerb I damaged my rim. The result of it was big vibrations, we will have new set of wheels for the qualifying, so we don’t expect any troubles.
